Jim concentrates his practice in contested estate, trust and guardianship matters and estate and gift tax controversies.

Active in a number of law related organizations, including bar associations and study groups, Jim is a member of the Chicago Bar Association's Probate Practice Committee, where he served as a chair of one of the Committee's divisions and was a member of its Executive and Legislative Committee. He is also an active member of the American Bar Association Committee on Estate and Trust Litigation and Controversy.

Jim has authored two chapters in the Contested Estates Manual which is a resource used by lawyers throughout Illinois. He is a frequent speaker on various fiduciary topics and has also taught the course on Estates at Loyola University of Chicago School of Law.
